Headway Recruitment,
a premium maritime recruitment service,
is launched in London
12th February 2001
Headway Recruitment Ltd, the first specialist recruitment consultancy
created for shipping people by shipping people, has been launched in
London.
According to its founders, Headway Recruitment is a new kind of recruitment
consultancy for the maritime industry. Formed by shipping professionals
with a huge range of industry contacts, Headway offers clients a fast,
cost-effective solution to staffing problems. Headway will initially
focus on five major areas of the industry: bulk and liner shipping;
commodity trading; maritime law; marine insurance and P&I; and transport-related
IT.
Paul Smith, a director of the
new company, explains the concept behind Headway:
"Headway Recruitment is aimed at eliminating the time that
clients and candidates have had to waste explaining the basics of their
business to under-trained recruitment staff.
He added:
"Employers in our industry are looking for a recruitment
partner who can provide first-class candidates with the required background
and skills with minimum business interruption."
Delivering market-leading service and support
Jonathan Bygrave, also a director
of Headway Recruitment, revealed that the company has already been successful
in satisfying a number of clients during the company's start-up period:
"We have been able to build a significant database of high-quality
candidates and clients ahead of our official launch, highlighting the
wide-ranging support we have received from within the industry. Furthermore,
we have been fortunate to match a number to the satisfaction of all
parties concerned."
